Find a Detail from a Photo in Other Shots with Sector Detail Scan
If you have a large photo collection, it’s not easy to keep track of all the shots in it and sort your photos the way you want to. For example, it can be painfully hard to find all the photos of a particular subject or photos containing a similar detail (for example, a church or a boat). To do that, you have to spend hours going through all your photos, previewing them, and making notes of the ones that match your criteria.
DPC’s Sector Detail Scan mode changes that and makes the whole task fast and easy. All you need to do is select a sector on an image and search other images for elements contained in that particular sector. The Sector Detail Scan mode is very precise because it compares photos sector by sector.
To compare photos using this mode, switch to Sector Detail Scan using the Scan Mode drop-down menu.
Then select where you0 want to look for similar photos and add a photo you're going to use as a source.
Now highlight a sector on it using the grid. You can move the sector box around.
Click on the Start Scan button to start the scan and wait for it to finish. Depending on the size of your library and the similarity threshold settings, it can take longer than other scan modes.
Examine the results in the Multiviewer and select the images you want to remove (use bulk selection options or select images one by one).
To delete the selected duplicate and similar photos, click on the trash button. Alternatively, click on the move button to move the duplicates to a different folder or drive.
